Claremont wins Housing Design Award!
20 July 2010
Hill Residential is delighted to announce that it has won an award at the Housing Design Awards 2010 for its Claremont development in Old Bethnal Green, London.
Each year the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) gives one award for a scheme which delivers against the remit to deliver good design. This is the Richard Feilden Award, in memory of the exceptional architect.
Claremont is a joint venture project working in conjunction with Tower Hamlet Community Housing New Homes and is actually the redevelopment of a 1950s slab block by Denys Lasdun. Located next to the famous Keeling House, the new scheme is the latest award winner to emulate the Victorian East End terrace housing, reasserting the lost street pattern. Judges were impressed too by how some terraced townhouses camouflaged maisonettes built on top of courtyard flats. They commented that the scheme is very strong on reasserting the lost street pattern whilst achieving urban density. A very smart scheme indeed.
There are only 2 properties left for sale on this popular development - a stunning 2-bedroom penthouse and a lovely 3-bedroom freehold house - to find out more, contact our agent, Bridge, on 020 7749 1400.
